What to Expect:

To apply for an account with the Sewerage and Water Board: Call (504) 52-WATER (504 529-2837) and speak to a customer service representatives. In many cases, they can open an account over the phone. Visit one of the full service offices to meet with a representative. The following requirements must be met in order to obtain service: A deposit is usually required. The amount of the deposit is based on the size of the meter but may be waived or adjusted to reflect your previous payment history with the S&WB. Identification, such as a drivers license or Social Security card, must be shown. Confirmation of your identification helps us minimize fraud and nonpayment. Evidence that you are entitled to service at the location. A lease, act of sale, bills from other utilities, or similar documents confirm you are a resident or owner at the property.
