The Cotton Mill is a large complex consisting of 287 units located at 920 Poeyfarre St. The building was used in the late 1800′s to produce Cotton from various cloth products. In the mid 1990′s, the conversion was started into condos. Most units in the building will offer 20 ft ceilings, at least 1; almost floor to ceiling window, and range in sq footage from about 500 sq ft to 1300 sq ft. Many units have the exposed beams and piping running through the high ceilings. Today, 15 years into the conversion, some units still include the original amenities, while others have been updated with stainless steel appliances, wood cabinets, and granite countertops. Many feature original wood floors, while other have updated the flooring to their taste. The square shaped building offers those on the outer units looking at City, River, or Uptown views; while those on the inner square overlook the courtyard and pool.
Prices currently range from roughly 160,000 to some penthouses units that have sold for close to 600,000. The building offers studio style layouts, loft style bedrooms, up to 3 bedrooms. This building is approved for FHA Mortgages. Rentals in the Cotton Mill do very well and hold their values nicely.
The Cotton Mill boasts 24 hour security, an inground pool, fitness center, party room, and large, tree lined courtyard. Parking for the building can be obtained at meters around the building or a parking spot can be rented from a lot across the street for roughly 125.00/month.
All entrances are secured by a keypad, and the front entrance is monitored by a security guard. All visitors, contractors, deliveries, etc are logged in by the front desk.
